If you like to fish, you might catch a Bass, a Walleye, an occasional Steelhead Trout, a Giant Golden Carp, or the increasingly elusive and mysterious Muskie.
If you like to swim, just pull your boat into a hollow and jump in. You probably won't have to worry about hitting bottom. Fontana Lake is almost 400 feet deep in places.
This waterfall can be accessed by boat via the Nantahala River prong of Fontana Lake.
Keep an eye out for the wildlife as well. You might see a bear swimming across the lake. Or a deer. Or even a squirrel. If you look up, you might also see an eagle hunting for his next meal. Or a family of Wild Turkeys gobbling from the bank. |
