The Deep Creek entrance to the Smoky Mountains lies just outside of Bryson City. There you will find a hiking trails, waterfalls, fishing, tubing, and a sizeable picnic area. Three waterfalls grace this section of the park.
Tom's Branch and Indian Creek waterfalls are relatively easy to reach. Juney Whank waterfall requires a little more effort to see, but still can be classified as "moderate". If you like tubing, you can rent a tube, hike up the trail aways, and float back down to the parking lot or picnic area. When the water's up, it can be quite a thrill!
Fly fishing is popular in Deep Creek also. Once you get past the authorized tubing section, fishing can be quite enjoyable. Looking for a strenuous hike or a short leg-stretcher? You'll find both at the Deep Creek section of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Along the way, you'll see beautiful waterfalls, scenic views, historical cemeteries, and perhaps a little wildlife. Check out our Smoky Mountain Lodging Accommodations, pick out a room, and give us a call to enjoy the Deep Creek Entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. |
